The Trump administration has announced new interim regulations for hemp production, giving growers some much needed clarity.

In December, Congress passed the 2018 Farm Bill, legalizing the production of hemp. Since then, producers have been waiting for the USDA to establish a national regulatory framework that would guide hemp production. The new interim rules will come into effect Thursday and will provide guidelines about hemp testing and licensing requirements.

Repost from Wholefood Magazine l Author  Jonny Bowden, Ph.D., CNS aka The Nutrition Myth Buster™

The vaping crisis has caused a lot of people a lot of angst.

I’ve even had some ex-smoker friends of mine who are weaning off cigarettes using devices like the Juul say to me—kiddingly, I hope—that they would be better off going back on cigarettes!

I can certainly understand the fears. We’ve all heard the terrible stories of the strange lung illnesses that are showing up that appear to be associated with vaping— not to mention the reports of deaths (all of which we’ll get to in a minute, so stay with me). If you vape—i.e. use any electronic device that vaporizes nicotine, THC, CBD, etc.—you’re understandably scared.

Sharing a belief that the future is theirs to design, young people are feeling empowered to create change. Demonstrating resilient hope and creativity, they are blending informed storytelling with playful, inclusive campaigns to get their message across. Recognizing the role of art, they are using visualization and experimentation to facilitate conversations about the world’s problems and in designing solutions.

Vibrant Rebellion, a new design trend for Autumn/Winter 20/21 highlighted by Franklin Till in VIEWPOINT COLOUR – 06, RISE UP, highlights how a frenetic, expressive and unapologetically rabble-rousing design direction brings together like minds in optimistic rebellion.

According to federal law, a Cannabis L. sativa plant that contains less than 0.3% THC is considered hemp. Presently, there are a variety of cosmetic products on the market that prominently feature the inclusion of hemp-based CBD. These products come in a variety of forms, from lip balms to bath bombs and body oils.

ARTICLE BY KYLE JAEGER l MARIJUANA MOVEMENT.NET

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is moving to insert language into a congressional spending report that calls on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to clear a path for the lawful marketing of hemp-derived CBD products.

FDA has said that allowing CBD to be sold as food items or dietary supplements would require it to develop alternative regulations that could take years to complete without congressional action. But McConnell, who was the chief proponent of a hemp legalization provision of the 2018 Farm Bill, isn’t interested in waiting around.
